What does Usisaat take care of?

  • We pack all items securely in moving boxes.
  • Larger items are protected with moving blankets and bubble wrap.
  • Fragile items are packed with extra protection.
  • We use approved packing materials suitable for transportation within Greenland and internationally.

What do I need to take care of myself?

  • Dismantling furniture, lamps, curtains, TV mounts, and household appliances.
  • Cleaning and defrosting appliances before shipment. Freezers and refrigerators must be defrosted at least 24 hours before moving.
  • Appliance doors should remain open after cleaning to prevent odors.
  • Washing machines and dishwashers must be completely drained of water.
  • Transport brackets for washing machines must be installed before the move.
  • Clearly marking any items that should not be included in the move.
  • Packing essential items in boxes marked “VAKANT” if you need access to them during transit.

  • Empty all cupboards, drawers, and furniture before moving.
  • Ensure all electronic equipment is disconnected and ready for transport.
  • Take photos of particularly valuable or fragile items for documentation purposes.
  • Keep important documents (passport, contracts, etc.) with you and transport them yourself.
  • Remove batteries from devices whenever possible.
  • Check that all liquids are securely sealed or removed.
  • Ensure good access conditions (e.g., clear snow and make space).
  • Inform us in advance about particularly heavy or difficult items.

Items That Must Not Be Packed or Transported

  • Flammable liquids (e.g., gasoline, gas, paint).
  • Pressurized cylinders and spray cans.
  • Fireworks or explosive materials.
  • Chemicals.
