Shipping – Frequently asked questions

When can I expect delivery?

  • In Greenland: typically 3–5 business days after the container arrives
  • In Denmark: normally 6–10 business days after arrival

Can delays occur?

Yes, delays may occur due to:

  • Weather conditions
  • Sea freight and transshipment
  • Customs clearance
  • Logistics in remote areas

📦 We will keep you continuously updated throughout the entire transportation process.

What happens if I cannot receive my belongings immediately?

  • Additional charges for container rental and storage may apply
  • It is important that we are informed before shipment
  • We can offer temporary storage by agreement

What must I ship separately or pay for separately?

The following items are normally not included in a standard household move:

  • Dangerous goods (gas cylinders, flammable liquids, ammunition, batteries, etc.)
  • Frozen foods, food products, flowers, and temperature-sensitive goods
  • Kayaks, sleds, snowmobiles, cars, engines, and similar items
  • Alcohol (cannot be shipped as part of a household relocation to or from Greenland)

📦 Delivery and Access

  • The recipient must be present at delivery or have made prior arrangements
  • Please ensure access conditions are in place (parking, key access, elevator, etc.)
  • Additional delivery requirements (e.g., carrying items upstairs without an elevator) may incur extra charges

📄 Customs and Documentation (Denmark / EU / Rest of the World)

When relocating from Greenland to Denmark, the EU, or other countries, documentation is required to release household goods through customs.

The following documents must be submitted:

  • Household Goods Declaration
  • Copy of passport
  • Certificate of residence from the municipality of departure (Greenland)

After Arrival (Important)

  • Approximately one week before the vessel arrives at the port, the following must be submitted:
  • A new certificate of residence from the municipality of arrival

📌 This document is essential, as it is used to clear and release the household goods through customs so that delivery can take place.

⚠ Important Notes

  • Missing documentation will result in delays in delivery
  • Customs processing will only begin once all required documents have been received
  • Documents must be accurate and up to date
  • These requirements apply because Greenland is outside the EU Customs Union

📦 Special Items

  • Large or heavy items must be declared in advance
  • Special transportation may require additional planning and costs
